The decision of the reference group of the Eurovision Song Contest to fine RÚV with just 5.000€ over the Hatari Palestinian flag incident has created strong reactions among fans and delegations.The main argument against the decision is that the rules are not being followed and the reference group seems incompetent to enforce them.   How else can someone explain that RÚV is called upon to pay substantially less than the amount they paid for the pyros used during the performance of Hatari in Tel Aviv? While others comment that the reference group,  reacts inconsistently, as in 2016, for the exact same issue, the Armenian broadcaster only received a warning.   The Icelandic broadcaster also reacted, saying that “participating broadcasters can never completely prevent artists from saying or doing anything that might contradict the rules of the competition”. “Eurovision” is certainly a brand that every company related to media would love to own, and Noel Curran knows that better than anyone else. After all, it is his wife   Eimear Quinn that won the contest back in 1996 representing Ireland.   Since then ,   the program me   has certainly developed, becoming the most important music event in Europe, while at the same time EBU managed to sell the concept to the United States of America and have NETFLIX shoot a movie under its name.  Is there anything else a director general would dream   of   while being in charge of the EBU? Of course not, but in the case of Noel Curran the “dream” became a “nightmare” on the  night   of  the   18th   of May 2019 : Several mistakes of the organising  committee turned the event into a fiasco ,   while the bad press th at   followed in all major media infuriated EBU's director general.  The stroke that broke the camel's back, was when the official website eurovision.tv r

The winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2018 and the runner up of 2007 are the two main artists that will appear as guests in this American comedy film. Both artists visited London a few days ago, where they took part in the shooting. Netta and Verka will not play a role in the movie, they will just perform a part of their songs in a medley.  Many Eurovision stars have tried to get themselves included within the movie, while others have declined the offer since their participation would be very limited! In a few months we will know who the artists performing in the medley will be!
