EXCLUSIVE: The plan to postpone Eurovision for a month!

The Eurovision Song Contest was created after World War II in order to unite the nations of Europe that have been divided by a catastrophic war. 65 years later the continent is again being tested, this time by a pandemic that forces people to stay at home and countries to close their borders.
The government of the Netherlands and the European Broadcasting Union officers, believe that they should do everything in their power for this year’s event to take place, uniting the people of the continent through music, exactly as it did 65 years ago. For them the reason is not financial, but mainly symbolic.

There are several plans on the table but according to our exclusive information, the one that has for now the most chances is the one that says the contest will be postponed for 3 weeks to a month with the final taking place either on the 6th or the 13th of June, with the 20th not being excluded.
Taking the examples of China and the restrictions in all of Europe, EBU officers have talked with several experts that believe that the pandemic will slow down in Europe during the first 10 days of April, and this would be 3 weeks before the first delegations and journalists were supposed to arrive in Rotterdam.
According to the plan, giving an additional safety span of 21 to 35 days will ensure the safety of all visitors. Μoroever ,what also is  taken into consideration is the fact that most scientists believe that COVID-19 will follow the example of other coronavirus and will melt down in warmer weather, so for Rotterdam those days really make a difference vis-à-vis the prevailing climatic conditions.
Of course, it must be stressed here, that postponing the event to the end of September is not ruled out, but the main concern in this case is the time the winning broadcaster will have to organise next years contest.
